At Aurrum Kids we believe that the early years of life are fundamental for a child’s growth and development. We follow the Early Years Learning Framework in our play based curriculum which recognises the importance of a child’s right to belong, be and become.
This holistic approach for a early childhood curriculum ensures that each child is supported in the development of their social, emotional, cognitive, physical, sensory, communication and independence skills. Our application of the Early Years Learning Framework is designed to instil positive lifelong habits into our young learners by supporting their natural curiosity and growing independence.
Early Childhood Learning tailored at every age
Nursery 0-2 Years
Aurrum Kids nurseries have beautifully appointed sleep rooms with individual cots to support your baby’s sleep routine. Through thoughtful design Aurrum Kids nurseries create a safe and stimulating environment for children aged 0-2 years. Our nursery educators foster early moments of learning through tailored and flexible responses to your child’s needs and development, to help your baby grow in so many ways every day.
Toddlers 2-3 Years
The toddler years are a time of dramatic change and development where children test their power and demonstrate their independence. A number of milestones are reached during the toddler years, as toddlers learn to play, speak, behave, move and develop their own individuality. It’s also an important time to support the children’s naturally growing curiosity.
The toddler years form key period of time at Aurrum Kids. This is when our educators focus on the development of confidence and inquisitiveness of our life-long learners. To do this we offer a variety of safe and stimulating indoor and outdoor environments that provide a range of materials promoting exploration and problem-solving. These skills are an important part of all children’s development and understanding of the concept of ‘what comes next’ by applying critical thinking.
Preschool 3-5 Years
In the years before school children rapidly grow their understanding of the world and their place in it, becoming ever more independent and confident. Children increasingly use language to ask questions and communicate their thoughts. They start to understand that numbers represent real objects through expressions such as ‘there are four wheels on that car’. The Preschool years mark the time in a child’s life where their world opens up to new possibilities. Friendships that can last into adulthood are built, a sense of independence is developed, and social skills are established through play and learning.
Our Aurrum Kids early childhood teachers and educators maintain a nurturing focus on wellbeing, a breadth of learning opportunities involving nature, literacy, numeracy, emotional development, confidence building, social engagement and more. Our high-quality preschool/kinder program is aimed to ensure a smooth transition to formal schooling.
At Aurrum Kids, we believe that all children are on the journey of learning and should be supported in this journey by their teachers and family. As a service we understand that there are skills each child should learn or be on the journey of learning prior to school that will help them not only in their transition to school but also throughout life.
Our play based curriculum ensures that children remain engaged in their learning journey so they develop a love of learning that they can carry with them throughout their lives. Each of our childcare centres offer a vast number of features and activities that are specifically designed to keep students busy learning and playing. With vegetable gardens that are incorporated into our Playground to Plate program, exciting climbing equipment, a water play area and creek bed, open art spaces and so much more, there’s something for every preschool aged student, no matter how they enjoy spending their time.
Intergenerational Experiences
At Aurrum Kids, we believe that intergenerational experiences give children the opportunity to learn from and connect with an older generation, enhancing the overall well-being of both young and old communities. Our application of the Early Childhood Learning Framework actively fosters this at Aurrum Kids through our Grandfriends Program of playdates and virtual visits. As we know from the common proverb ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ community interaction provides children the opportunity to learn and grow in an extended safe and healthy environment. Children are encouraged to learn new skills through building friendships with their Grandfriends.
