Mornington Aurrum Kids is a spacious, light-filled centre featuring large gabled windows to capture sunlight and warmth in the classrooms that open onto a generous playground featuring all weather surfaces, covered decks and a sustainability hub showcasing a greenhouse and kitchen gardens.
Sitting on the land of the original custodians, the Boonwurrong people, Mornington Aurrum Kids is located 57km south east of Melbourne on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula right across the road from Mornington Botanical Gardens and Art Gallery and only 5 minutes from Mornington Beach. Mornington Aurrum Kids provides a great option for local families wanting the best education in the best environment for their children.
In addition to the art spaces, covered natural timber deck and custom built playground that features raised garden beds, climbing equipment, a rainbow bike track, water play area and creek bed, the children area also able to access the parklands and sports fields adjacent to the centre.
The variety of cultures represented among the Mornington Aurrum Kids team and students are celebrated and shared throughout the year. Enhancing the breadth of experience for the children is the opportunity for intergenerational engagement in our Grandfriends program where children will have weekly engagement, building lasting friendships, experiences and memories across generations.
Our on-site cook prepares fresh meals daily in our custom designed kitchen using seasonal ingredients often harvested by the children from our very own herb and vegetable gardens – a real playground to plate experience! The children also get to regularly participate in cooking their own meals with the assistance of the cook and engage in conversations about nutritious food options.

What we provide, and what to bring
We have ready and waiting:
- All linen
- Hats are included in your child’s enrolment pack and will be named and kept at the centre for their ongoing use
- Five meals a day – breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack
Bring along:
- A change of clothes
- Bottles with formula or breast milk for nursery children
- Water bottles

Our Teachers and Educators make sure families are updated on their children’s activities, interests and development through the Parent Portal in KinderM8. Our Mornington Aurrum Kids team have been carefully selected for their qualifications and experience in early childhood to ensure the best possible start for your child.
With the support of the team, the children grow and harvest vegetables and herbs from our greenhouse and gardens to contribute fresh ingredients to the daily meals or to contribute to the creations in our Playground to Plate cooking classes supported by our on-site cook.
Located within such a vibrant and active community, Aurrum Kids will experience all that there is to offer from the beach to the parks to the bush connecting with and learning from their local community and environment.
